I have an HC3 and a medical exemption card, what does that mean for dental treatment?
I have had an HC3 for a while and I now have a medical exemption card as well. The little leaflet says that if you have an HC3 and a medical exemption card you may get dental treatment free but I'm not sure that I've understood it correctly. Does the medical exemption card change the function of the HC3?
an hc3 is to help you pay part of your dental treatment. it should tell u on it how much you are to pay. for example if you only have to pay £45 to each course of treatment but you total bill is £145. then you only pay £45 or say your treatment only comes to £30 then you would have to pay the full amount! but if you have a medical exemption then you shouldnt have pay depending what it is tho. like if you are pregnant then you dont pay or if u have had a baby in the last year ect. if you phone your dentist and tell them your medical exemption then they should tell you if you get freedental treatment. hope this helped! good luck.
